  Koopta Tree
 
Ziziphus mucronata A small, semi-deciduous tree with dark gray-brown bark when young.  Small yellow-green flowers bloom in clusters followed by round, dark red-brown fruit. Glossy leaves droop in a wide umbrella making the plant a suitable, unique and rare bonsai specimen as well as a tropical plant. Adaptable to all soil types. A very hardy species!    rsd - 131
 

  

Sowing instructions:

  • Soak in cold water for 24 hours

  • Sow in standard good draining potting mix 3/4” deep and cover the seed in seedling trays with a thin layer of sand

  • Keep moist at a soil temperature of  55-65° F

  • Germination can start in 2 weeks and last up to one year

Plant Care:

  • Grow in a standard potting mix

  • Grows in all soil types

  • Keep moist and feed once a month

  • Transplant when large enough to handle into pots

  • Keep humid if in dry conditions by occasional misting
