The coco de mer of the Seychelles produces the largest seeds. Each seed measures approximately 20 inches or 50 cm long and take up to six years to develop.

How far back can the drinking of tea be traced to?

Tea drinking can be traced to as far back as 50 BC to the Southern part of China.  Although it was surely used long before that not only as a drink but for medicinal use as well.

What plant can only be pollinated by a moth with a 5” wing span and a 12 inch tongue like proboscis?   

The Orchid known as Darwins orchid Angraecum sesquipedale from Madagascar. 

Penjing is a discipline that can be traced back to at least 221 BC.  What is it?

A traditional Chinese art that encompasses the complete essence of the natural world brought to a miniature form much like Bonsai.  However Penjing uses the idea of the complete landscape and reduces it to a small form.  It may even include mountains, rivers, animals etc. in addition to the tree or multiple trees as the main focal point.

Evidence shows that the Romans invented the art of topiary and beautified their gardens with many creative works.

What kind of tree look like a large upside down carrot during times of drought?

The Boojum tree has developed characteristics which allow it so survive severe drought conditions.  It is found on the Baja peninsula of California. It looks a lot like a small shriveled asparagus during drought and when it finally gets water it grows as high as 30 feet only to repeat the process as drought resumes.
