Tomato Beefsteak  

Beefsteak    Imagine the perfect tomato. Then consider this one! It has  all the attributes that make for a perfect BLT.  Its the ultimate all purpose tomato.  Perfect flavor, perfect size, beautiful rich red. This plant is grown for deep red, large tomatoes. 9- 12 ounce fruits have a mild flavor and are perfect for slicing!  Large plants grow on vigorous vines. Fusarium and verticilium wilt resistant.

Sowing instructions:

 Start indoors in a good draining potting mix indoors 8 weeks before planting outside. Germination results in 6-12 days at a soil temperature of 70-90 degrees F.  Soil temperature should be at least 60-70 degrees F when planting outdoors.

Plant Care: Harden off and set out after all danger of frost is past in a nice sunny spot.  For the biggest yields place plants in raised composted beds.  Water regularly. After harvest cure in the sun for several days

Growing Tips:

  • Keep plants well watered
  • Maximize production by harvesting fruits regularly
  • Seed can be sown indoors 8 weeks before last frost date
  • Sow outdoors after last frost and when soil temperature reaches at least 65°
