Solanum pseudocapsicum   You'll have fun growing this highly colorful plant!  Jerusalem Cherry can be highly decorative when grown as a house plant and is most often used as an ornamental to add splashes of color where needed especially in winter. Also grown as a perennial in warmer regions to zone 8.  They can survive mild frosts and some cold. delicate white blossoms are followed by green fruit turning to cherry orange as ripening occurs. Very similar to cherry tomatoes in taste and texture and are sometimes easily confused with them but should not be eaten when green and considered only as an ornamental.  For maximum fruit production  full sun is required but this plant will flower and set fruit in moderate sun areas.

 Sowing instructions:

• Soak in warm water for 24 hours

• Sow seed 3/4” deep at a soil temperature of  55-65° F and keep moist

• Sow in standard good draining potting mix

Plant Care:

• Grow in a standard potting mix

• Place in bright light

• Likes a deep, rich well fertilized soil

• Keep moist and feed once a month

• Transplant when large enough to handle into pots

•  Keep humid if in dry conditions by occasional misting

• Keep plant above 35° F

• Do not allow to remain in standing water
