Red Sealing Wax Palm

  Cyrtostachys renda also lakka  Scarlet Palm or lipstick palm   The stunning beauty of feathery fronds and the smooth multiple, red trunk make this one of the most beautiful and sought after palms in the world!  Bowl shaped flowers bloom with 3-petals followed by small fruit emerging in clusters of pink to dark red.    Item # rsd - 70 

Sowing instructions:

  • Soak in warm water for 24 hours

  • Sow seed 3/4” deep at a soil temperature of  81° F and keep moist

  • Sow in standard good draining potting mix

  • Seed may take 2 - 4 months to germinate but the wait is worth it!

Plant Care:

  • Grow in a standard potting mix

  • Place in bright filtered light

  • Likes a deep, rich well fertilized soil

  • Keep moist and feed once a month

  • Transplant when large enough to handle into pots

  •  Keep humid if in dry conditions by occasional misting

  • Do not let this palm experience temperatures below  45° F

  • Do not allow to remain in standing water
