 Rainbow Shower, Carao  - Slim and long graceful leaves and branches grace this fine tree with the color of pink while growing young.  The lavender buds open up into a rainbow of rich coral flowers that amass in thick clusters.

Sowing instructions:

  • Soak seed overnight.

  • Nick the seeds outer coat for better germination rate. Soaking alone may not be enough.

  • Sow seed at 64-70 degrees F in standard good draining potting mix. 

Plant Care:

  • Grow in full light, water freely during growing season, sparingly in winter and feed once a month. 

  • Grow in a standard potting mix.  

  • Transplant when large enough to handle into pots.

  • Prefers fertile, well-drained soils, but can survive on most soils. 

  • Keep humid if in dry conditions by occasional misting.

  • Cannot tolerate outdoor temperatures below 55 degrees.    

Fun Facts:

  •  Rich honey from the pods are often mixed with milk and used as a special drink by tropical natives

  • The seeds are used in lei making in Hawaii

  • Makes an excellent plant for collectors of plants for the home or greenhouse environment

  • Grown for the beautiful leaf shape and color.
