Wild Rainforest Cashew

Anacardium excelsum

A beautiful tree with coarse, rose colored bark and graced by creamy white flowers that give way to a kidney shaped nut that is much like its relative the cashew.  However this seed should not be eaten.  Flowers bloom from February to April and accent the beautiful green leathery foliage. An excellent container plant for the rich tropical look and would also make a good bonsai specimen because of the coarse bark and aged trunk appearance.
