Jungle Banana

  Ensete ventricosum  A large leafy ornamental tree with a swollen base and straight broad green leaves. Leaves have a red mid-section with purple edges. White, cup-shaped flowers with reddish bracts bloom in late spring Fruits are banana-like but dry and not tasty. 

Soak seed for 24 hours and sow at 64-70 degrees F in standard potting mix.  Germination timing can be erratic.  Grow in full light and away from direct sun.  Grow in shade if outdoors.  Water freely and feed once a month. 

This is a fast grower and a very beautiful plant to have!  Zone 10-12 for outdoor growing otherwise enjoy as a house or greenhouse plant.  5 seeds per pack!   Item # rsd - 35
