Jacaranda caucana 

 A tree from the wet rainforest regions of tropical South America. Lacy bright green leaves and stunning clusters of bright purple flowers. Sow seed at 61 – 70° F Grow in full light, water freely during growing season and fertilize once a month.  Prune if necessary in late winter. Zones 9-11 or grow as a houseplant.  item #  rsd-111

Fun Facts:

  • Jacarandas bloom right at the end of dry seasons before news leaves begin to bud
  •  There are around 40 species of this tree
  • The wood from some of the species is highly appreciated for its timber value for furniture making
