   Cucumber Marketmore  (slicing)

Developed in the 1970's as a slicing type cucumber.  This disease resistant variety has become a standard among growers! Vigorous vines produce heavy yields of slender green cucumbers with firm white flesh that grow to about 8" long.  Item # ss - 21

Sowing instructions:   Sow outdoors in a well prepared seed bed after all danger of frost is past in a nice sunny spot. Sow 4 to 5 seeds per hill in rows 36 inches apart. Water well. Optimum soil temperature is 70+ degrees F.  If starting indoors, use individual peat pots to minimize root disturbance when transplanting and start them mid-April to early May. Transplant 3 weeks after seeding. 

Plant Care: For the biggest yields place plants in raised composted beds.  Water regularly.  Keep  picked and they’ll keep producing.

Growing Tips:

• Keep plants well watered
• If space is limited grow on a trellis or fence
• Maximize production by harvesting fruits regularly
• Seed can be sown indoors 3 weeks before last frost date
• Sow outdoors after last frost and when soil temperature reaches at least 65°
