Cotoneaster

A very popular shrub as well as a bonsai favorite! Grows as a standard in most areas. Small round leaves are accented by beautiful red berries that last well into winter. This evergreen plant is perfect for hugging low areas and looks spectacular hanging over rocks and other features.   Item # b - 12

 

Sowing instructions:

  • Our seeds are ready to go

  • Soak in warm water for 24 hours

  • Sow seed 3/4” deep at a soil temperature of  60-65° F. and keep moist

  • Sow in standard good draining potting mix

  • Germination within three months at 60-65° F

Plant Care:

  •  

  • Allow it to dry out a bit between watering, then water well

  • Place in bright filtered light  or partial shade

  • Likes a deep, rich well fertilized neutral to acidic soil

  • Transplant when large enough to handle into pots

  • Benefits from a little humidity if in dry conditions by occasional misting

  • Do not allow to remain in standing water
