An Heirloom cantaloupe from  Rocky Ford Colorado that dates back to 1881. The melon has netted skin and sweet, pale-green, aromatic fruit. A well known home garden variety. Melons weigh in at 2 - 3 pounds with a gold border in the center.   An extremely productive variety! The flavor can't be beat!
item # ss - 9

Sowing instructions: Sow seed directly in standard good draining potting mix indoors 3 weeks before planting outside.   Germination results in 5-10 days at a soil temperature of 70 - 85 degrees F.  Soil temperature should be at least 65 degrees F if planting outdoors.

Plant Care: For the biggest yields place plants in raised composted beds.  Water regularly.
