Nandina Domestica Also known as Sacred Bamboo. Although Not a true bamboo this small, multi stemmed, semi-evergreen tree is native to China and Japan.  Grown for its long pointed leaves and red fruits and the ability to flower, fruit and have foliage at the same time.  They like cool conditions in winter months.  Tolerates temperatures of 40 to 100 degrees F. It is also believed to bestow good luck on the grower. Start seed in standard potting mix or bonsai soil.  Grow in fertile well drained soil.
