Kentucky Wonder 

 Pole Bean

 

A long time favorite for its  flavor and big yields.  Plump, green string less pods can reach to 8-9" long. Use for fresh, canning or freezing.  Will produce over long periods. Keep picked. Heirloom from the 1800's Planting season: Late spring to early summer when all danger of frost is past. 

 

Sowing instructions: Sow seed directly in late spring after weather has warmed and all danger of frost has passed.  For continuous harvest plant every 2 weeks up until 6 weeks from fall frost date.  Germination results in 7-10 days.   

Plant Care: For the biggest yields grow plants in raised composted beds.  Water regularly.
